Job Summary:
The College Writing Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University invites applications for a Lecturer in College Writing at the FDU Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, New Jersey. FDU is a private, nonprofit Hispanic Serving Institution ( HSI ) of higher education, with two New Jersey campuses, the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck and the Florham Campus in Madison. The Metro Campus is home to a majority-minority student body. The Metropolitan Campus also has a strong career focus, as it is home to many of FDU’s business, professional, science, and health care programs.
Required Qualifications:
Required: Masters in Rhetoric and Composition or related field; some graduate coursework in composition and rhetoric preferred (e.g., ABD ). The ideal candidate will have expertise and a record of excellence in teaching basic writing at the undergraduate level. Demonstrated ability to mentor minority students and support diversity initiatives a plus. Must be prepared to engage in ongoing professional development and service activities within the College Writing Program. Teaching load of 12 credits per semester. Submit a cover letter/letter of interest, curriculum vitae, sample syllabi, teaching philosophy, sample of scholarship, and three letters of recommendation.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
