The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University invites applications for a non-tenure track Faculty of Engineering Practice position at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with interests and expertise in one or more of the following: low-speed aerodynamics, propulsion concepts, aerospace structures, solid mechanics, mechanics of materials, finite element methods, and related fields with application to courses on aircraft design and design-build-test.

Successful candidates must hold an advanced degree (MS with thesis or PhD) in aeronautical or aerospace engineering or a related discipline, have significant experience as a practicing aerospace engineer, and must demonstrate the potential to integrate their professional practice with research and industry engagement/outreach programs in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The successful candidate will apply their experience to provide students with design-build-test activities, instruct aircraft design courses, and other courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. The successful candidate will develop national recognition via activities such as: success of student teams in classes and projects, publications and presentations about educational or applied research activities, engagement with industry and government organizations, and participation in externally funded research activities.
