POSITION:    Assistant Teaching Professor, 100%, Academic Staff, Renewable, 9-month Appointment, 1 Vacancy 

DUTIES:    

  • Teach 15 credits per semester of graduate educational administrative courses in online, accelerated seven-week terms; a portion of the semester credits may be allocated to the advisement of educational administration students and/or supervision of clinical experiences 
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction regarding preparation of school administrators
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with area schools, communities, and alumni
  • Provide service to the department
  • Provide an on-campus presence to meet with and to serve students, and to work with colleagues in the department and across campus to fulfill service roles 
  • Perform other departmental duties as assigned by the department chair 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • A combination of education, credentials, and experience meeting at least one of the options below:
    • PhD or EdD in education related field, licensure as a principal or superintendent, and a minimum of three years’ experience as a principal or superintendent, 
    • Master's degree in education administration, licensure as a principal or superintendent, and minimum of five years experience as a principal or superintendent
  • Active and current engagement in professional practice with K-12 schools and/or active participation and leadership in state and national professional organizations 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with any of the diverse identities and experiences (cultural, heritage, racial, ethnic, gender, religious, socioeconomic, varying abilities, etc.) representing our campus community

This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Licensure and extended experience (3+ years) as a K-12 Director of Instruction 
  • 1 year experience with program development and continuous improvement processes
  • 1 year University level teaching experience
  • Evidence of research or scholarly activities (1 published article) and/or professional development experiences (planning and implementing a yearlong professional development series)

SALARY:    Salary range for this position is: $52,000 - $59,000 annually.  UWS offers a competitive salary and benefits package including health insurance coverage for eligible dependents.
