The College of Business, Humanities, and Social Sciences at West Virginia University Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor or non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor of English. We are seeking an outstanding candidate to complement the faculty in a multidisciplinary department of History, English, and Creative Arts.

Responsibilities include teaching twelve undergraduate hours per semester to include first-year composition and professional/technical writing. Teaching modalities may include in-person, on-line, or both, as assigned. Ability to teach public speaking is required. A successful tenure-track candidate will actively contribute to scholarly pursuits in English studies, to departmental initiatives, and to the intellectual and cultural life of the university. A successful non-tenure-track candidate will actively contribute to departmental initiatives and to the cultural life of the university. Additional responsibilities include committee assignments, participation in professional development, attending regularly scheduled faculty and department meetings, responsibilities and activities to promote student retention and persistence, and other duties associated with the faculty position.

Qualifications :

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in English is required, and the degree must be conferred by August 2023. Candidates must also exhibit evidence of effective teaching experience in composition at the college level. Experience with online instructional technologies is desirable.
