Job Summary:
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) has built a world-class reputation for compassionate patient care, cutting-edge research, and hands-on training programs for resident physicians and clinical fellows. We are seeking candidates for a Cornea position that will involve patient care, teaching, and research. Clinical activities will include patient care at local UW Health clinic locations. Additionally, this position may include patient care duties at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran's Hospital. Teaching activities will involve medical students, residents, and fellows. Research activities may include participation in clinical trials and/or translational research.

Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care at UW Health Clinics and potentially William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran's Hospital.
2. Development and execution of patient care programs in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases (medical and surgical).
3. Laser surgery, including cataract surgery using femtosecond laser machine; refractive surgery.
4. Fellow, resident and medical student clinical education in clinic and operating room.
5. Development of an anterior segment clinical practice.
6. Participate/initiate clinical research in anterior segment diseases.
The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

-Residency training in a U.S. Ophthalmology accredited program
-Cornea Fellowship
-Wisconsin Medical License required by start date
Candidates for Associate Professor (CHS) and Professor (CHS) rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per SMPH guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.

-Refractive surgery and femtosecond training/experience
