Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Pharmacy and Health
Sciences seeks applicants for a Clinical Assistant Professor of
Pharmacy Practice within the Department of Pharmacy Practice (acute
care). The FDU School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences prepares
pharmacists who will provide patient-centered care, advance the
pharmacy profession through research and patient and public health
advocacy, as well as serve as future health care leaders. FDU
School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers an integrated
curriculum that seeks to develop pharmacy practitioners who are
able to effectively communicate with diverse populations and work
as integral members of interprofessional health care teams.
Further, the School offers a concurrent Master's degree program to
qualified pharmacy students.The clinical faculty position is a
full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track appointment (rank and salary
commensurate with skills and experience). Faculty members are
expected to support the FDU School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
vision through teaching in the didactic and experiential
professional pharmacy curriculum, developing a research agenda
within their discipline and providing service to the School and
University at large.This position will be affiliated with an acute
care clinical practice site that is seeking a clinical pharmacy
practice faculty member to participate in direct patient care. It
is expected that clinical assistant professor will maintain active
interdisciplinary practice at their assigned clinical site. Primary
responsibilities of a faculty member at the clinical site will
include educating Fairleigh Dickinson University students,
residents (if applicable), and pharmacy staff, providing and
documenting pharmacotherapeutic interventions/pharmacy
consultations, attending and guiding student participation in acute
care pharmacotherapy rounds, providing patient counseling,
documenting medication errors/adverse drug reactions, and
participating in quality improvement initiatives as assigned by the
director of pharmacy at the clinical site.
