Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the Associate Director, Financial Aid Operations provides direction and leadership of the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid and Scholarship Department. The incumbent oversees the production of all aid applications, ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations, systemwide and campus policies, internal controls and quality standards of service.
- Provides the Director with analysis and recommendations regarding regulations, professional association stances, system-wide statutes and campus policies that affect or would have potential to affect financial aid programs and services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Master's degree Preferred.
- Five (5) years of professional experience in Financial Aid.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Leadership
- Demonstrated experience in managing personnel, which includes hiring, training and evaluating professional counseling staff. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of Federal/State Student Aid programs and the ability to apply knowledge to situations where precedents do not exist or are ambiguous. Must be sensitive to the needs of individuals while maintaining the legal and fiscal integrity of federal, state and institutional aid programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills, effective presentation skills, good organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to: create solutions to student problems that integrate the full range of University resources; analyze complex situations and determine appropriate courses of action while engaged with students in personal interactions of a sensitive nature. The ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff and the community and the ability to function as a member of the financial aid Leadership Team; manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Familiarity with modern office technology (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint) is essential as well as working knowledge of the electronic processes used in Financial Aid. These include but are not limited to Common Origination and Disbursement (COD), FAA Access to CPS Online, National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), and WebGrants, and Electronic Loan Management (ELM) System. Strategic planning skills.
- Lead diverse teams to support the operational mission and vision of employers by fostering an ethical, inclusive and collegial work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to support ongoing improvement through courageous, resilient, and catalytic leadership.
- Lead varying initiatives through a collaborative, service-oriented and communicative approach.
- Demonstrated commitment to employee development, recognition, and accountability to further operational goals.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
- Salary is commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience. The University offers excellent fringe benefits.
- The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $90,000 - $94,116, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
