Job Description

A postdoctoral position is available in the Korendovych lab at Syracuse University.
The research focus for this particular position will be on designing self-assembling peptides for catalysis (see Nature Chemistry, 2014, 6, 303 and korendovychgroup.syr.edu for more information). This would be a twelve-month appointment with a possibility for renewals pending availability of funds.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Chemistry or related discipline

Job Specific Qualifications
  • Experience in peptide synthesis, familiarity with basic biophysical characterization techniques and ability to handle air-sensitive samples are desirable.
  • Successful candidates will be energetic, motivated, and able to think critically about problems.
Responsibilities
  • Designing self-assembling peptides for catalysis
  • Participate in mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students
  • Preparation of grant applications and contribute to writing research articles
  • Help manage routine lab maintenance tasks
