The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is a research university and academic health center that discovers teaches and applies knowledge for the intellectual, cultural, social, and economic benefit of Birmingham, the state, and beyond. The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at UAB is seeking outstanding non-invasive clinician-educators and/or research faculty to join its practice. Responsibilities include performing outpatient specialty clinics and attending the inpatient coronary care unit and/or inpatient consult service. Non-invasive imaging will be assigned according to the candidate’s level of training and experience. Clinical faculty are expected to provide outstanding care for our patients while helping train our fellows, residents, and students in alignment with the UAB mission. Physician candidates must be board certified/board eligible in the pertinent specialty with training. Successful PhD or MD research candidates will be expected to maintain extramural grant funding and will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary, research group environment. UAB is internationally renowned for its intensely collaborative culture that has — for more than five decades — produced breakthroughs in education, health care, research, and service. UAB was ranked No. 1 in the United States as the Best Large Employer by Forbes Magazine, while also being ranked No. 1 top young university in the United States and No. 10 worldwide in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. UAB Hospital is the centerpiece of the UAB Health System and is the teaching hospital for the UAB Heersink School of Medicine.
