Position Description Summary/Purpose :

The Community Partnerships Liaison will conduct outreach to public health partners across the region through phone calls, emails, site visits, attendance at events, etc. These relationships will be leveraged for both the expansion of practicum sites, as well as future employment placements for students. The Community Partnerships Liaison will also take the lead on the planning and implementation of collaborative educational events using webinars and live formats as appropriate. This position is grant funded will serve for 6 hours/week @ $30/hour for a total of 45 weeks of $8,100 per year. (x 3 years)

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities :

  • Conduct outreach to public health partners across the region through phone calls, emails, site visits, attendance at events, etc. (Travel time is included in hourly rate)
  • Goal = 25 outreach contacts/quarter
  • The Community Partnerships Liaison will develop relationships and create mutually beneficial agreements for the hosting of Public Health students in practicum settings and will negotiate and execute required affiliation agreements.
  • Goal = 2 new affiliation agreements executed in year one (January – September 2023)
  • Goal = 4 new affiliation agreements/quarter in years two and three (September 2023 – September 2025) for a total goal of 34 new affiliation agreements.
  • Develop a tracking tool to monitor data for outreach, contact information, notes, follow-up, affiliation information
  • Organize collaborative educational events (webinars) for stakeholders on topics such as Diversity and Equity in Public Health, Ageism in Public Health (partnering with CT AARP), Social Determinants of Health in CT, etc. Host a table at the CT Public Health Association annual conference. Goal = 2 educational events at Goodwin University by end of Year Two (September 2024)
  • Meet virtually with PD 2x/month
  • Meet prn virtually with Data Administrator (TBH)
  • Meet prn virtually with Career Services
  • Meet prn virtually with HSC 460 faculty coordinator regarding practicum sites

Minimum Required Qualifications :
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health/Health Science – Masters preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Experience in spreadsheet tracking and data management systems
  • Experience with executing affiliation agreements
Education, Training and Experience :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health/Health Science – Masters preferred
