Job Description:

Perform diversified duties to prepare and cook a variety of meals and foods for students, patrons and the Jesuit Community following standard practices and procedures. Work from written or verbal orders and instructions, menus, recipes, and charts. Operate ovens, grills, mixers, meat slicers and other similar items. Plan and perform cooking of items to coincide with serving schedule time table. Observe and obey sanitation rules, practices, and procedures. Detect and report defective and unsafe equipment and materials as well as unusual situations to the supervisor. Observe and obey all safety rules, practices and procedures.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform various duties in preparation to provide meals for catered services for students, guests and members of the Jesuit community following established practices and methods

  • Must follow all recipes, production and service records in compliance with department, sanitation, and safety standards

  • Serve guests and assist in food production, stocking and rotating product

  • Setting up and cleaning food production and service areas following proper sanitation standards

  • Responsibilities also include the use of a slicing machine, grill, fryolator, pizza oven, stir fry equipment and/or similar types of equipment

  • Assist in the set-up, execution and clean-up of catered events as needed

  • Perform other similar or related duties as required or requested.

Available Shifts
  • Ref #1444: Kimball Main, Thursday-Monday, 6:00am-2:30pm.
  • Ref #1461: Kimball Main, Thursday-Monday, 12pm-8:30pm.
  • Ref #1481: Kimball Main, Friday-Tuesday, 6:00am-2:30pm
These positions are full-time, non-exempt. Shifts are subject to change based on the needs of the dining services department.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience in food and catering service preferred
  • Certification in ServSafe (food safety/sanitation) and experience in allergy meal prep preferred.
  • Good customer service and communication skills necessary to have a welcoming, friendly, and professional manner
  • Ability to frequently lift 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 or 100 pounds with assistance

Additional Information:
