Job Description:
Perform various duties to provide meals and services to students and guests following established practices and procedures. Major responsibilities include performing a variety of cleaning, washing and sanitizing duties including cleaning pots, pans, machinery, equipment, utensils, floors, etc., following prescribed routines and practices. Other responsibilities include assisting with the set-up and clean-up of catered events and performing other similar tasks as required or requested.
Essential Functions:
REF# 1477 Kimball Main, Tuesday - Saturday 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm
- Set up and operate dish machine and other cleaning equipment.
Follow chemical labels and instructions on all cleaning supplies
per MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and perform proper handling
of equipment.
- Maintain assigned work area in a neat and orderly manner. Sweep
and clean designated areas as needed. Pick up and dispose of trash,
debris, garbage, and waste to ensure cleanliness and
sanitation.
- Assist in cleaning dining and serving rooms. Stock and maintain
all silver ware, plates, napkins and condiment container and
dispensers. Clean and sanitize all tables, counters, and equipment
and service areas following established procedures.
- Have production units and service areas set for established
hours of operation.
- Organize and collect equipment for catered events and assist in
special functions as needed.
- Communicate defective or unsafe equipment/products as well as
unusual situations to managers and supervisors.
- Observe and follow all safety rules, practices and
procedures.
- Have the ability to work safely and effectively with various
types of foods that may contain allergens such as wheat, eggs,
nuts, tree nuts, dairy, fish, shellfish and soy.
- Participate and practice in annual training classes involving
sanitation, customer service, team building, food allergy awareness
and other required training mandated by the Human Resource
Department.
- Exhibit welcoming professionalism towards guests, team members
and the college community.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift
up to 50-100 pounds.
- Ability to organize work areas and stay ahead of
schedule.
- Perform other similar or related duties as required or
requested.
Requirements:

- One year of previous experience in food service is preferred
but not required.
- ServSafe Food Safety training is preferred but not required. If
training is not up-to-date, training will be provided and must be
completed upon 3-6 months from date of hire.
- Food allergy training is preferred but not required. If
training is not up-to-date, training will be provided and must be
completed upon 3-6 months from date of hire.
- Good customer service and appropriate communication skills are
needed in order to provide a welcoming, professional and safe
environment for students and guests.
- Upon hiring the following additional training must be completed
on a yearly basis: Title IX Harassment Prevention training and Data
Security Awareness training
