Primary Purpose of Position:
North Carolina Central University seeks a fundraiser for an entry-level position as a junior Development Officer, operating as the Associate Director of Annual Giving. Under the leadership of the Director of Annual Giving, the Associate Director will be responsible for management and oversight of annual giving programs, which include direct mail, phonathon, class reunion giving, e-solicitations & social media activities for Alumni and Friends. In addition, the selected candidate will work with other staff members to maximize fundraising productivity, provide staff support at special events, develop productive working relationships with key volunteers, and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three -five years of successful annual giving or general fundraising experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrated knowledge of overall fundraising principles.
• Strong technology, analytical, writing and communication skills.
• Must be results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with people at all levels of an organization.
• Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills, must demonstrate mature judgment and possess the ability to develop relationships with diverse constituencies.
