Primary Purpose of Position:
North Carolina Central University (NCCU) invites applications for the position of Director, Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP), which reports to the Associate Provost and Dean for Research and Sponsored Programs. The OSRP Director is the institutional grants and contracts officer and authorized official for submissions of all faculty/staff driven federal, state and private grants.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Master’s degree with enough experience or Bachelor’s Degree with ten (10) or more years of experience working with sponsored programs/grants/contracts at a university and/or state and federal levels.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A successful candidate will have a working knowledge of best practice grant review processes and legislation regulating grants administration, demonstrated ability to research rules and regulations and apply them to specific programs, demonstrated grant writing, capacity building and research administration experience, as well as strong oral and written communication skills. Must also possess the ability to interact appropriately with constituents - faculty, staff, Federal and State officials - in securing submission and conditions of grants and contracts. Excellent organizational and management skills, ability to deal with multiple projects and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Banner, electronic research administration and grants management systems. RAMSeS and Cayuse experience is a plus. Willingness to learn additional computer skills and software programs. Competency with budgeting and basic financial records. Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification is desirable/preferred.
