The Department of Mathematics at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Spring 2023 to teach Math 001 - Support for Quantitative Reasoning. The catalog description is below:

MATH 001 - Support for Quantitative Reasoning

Fundamental mathematical skills needed for success in Math 101 (Quantitative Reasoning). Includes operations with fractions, decimals and percents, and comparing and converting these; working with variables and translating verbal expressions into variable expressions; solutions to linear equations; graphing functions in the coordinate plane; exponents; and square roots.

Minimum qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in Mathematics or similar field (if applicant does not have a master's degree, then a Ph.D. shall be required).
  • Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment
Preferred qualifications:
  • Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,530 - $4,639 per full-time month
  • CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,530 - $6,056 per full-time month
