Assistant Professor of Physics

Drew University seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Physics beginning August 2023. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a broad range of courses for both majors and non-majors, including Introductory Physics, Quantum Mechanics or other advanced topics, and introductory and advanced labs.

Key Responsibilities:

The position’s primary responsibilities include teaching, research, student advising and engaging in service activities for the Physics department and University. The standard teaching load is three course equivalents per semester. The successful candidate must establish an active research program in physics involving Drew undergraduate students.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Physics by August 1, 2023. The successful candidate will have had prior teaching experience and a successful record or thoughtful plan to engage undergraduate students in research and projects in physics. The department is open to any physics subfield with a preference for experimental work. Laboratory space and startup funds are available.
