Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Business intelligence and Reporting Analyst will be responsible for writing reports and building dashboards and queries against WSU's data warehouse and operational systems. The key focus will be on data mining, analytics and visualization. This individual will work as a liaison between the business users and the IT experts to help build the key metrics necessary to support dashboards, reporting, and data analysis.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Three years of full-time (or equivalent) experience with:
- syntax driven code
- Analytics
Experience developing complex data visualizations and dashboards
Data Analysis Skills such as:
- Linear Modeling
- Intermediate data analysis skills
Data Presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with higher education data
- Experience programming data extracts from Banner or PeopleSoft or other large-scale, enterprise software
- Experience working with visualization tools such as Tableau - Experience using command line SQL tools
- Experience working with end-users and translating their business needs into technical requirements
- Excellent communication (verbal/written), organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, be detail oriented, be responsive, and demonstrate independent thought and critical thinking - Analytical and action
-Focused with strong time-management, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Please note the salary range for this job is from $42,100 to $73,500. The typical starting salary for this position will be in the range of $55,000. The position comes with a generous benefits package.

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision: Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
