Assistant Professor Ballet

The successful candidate will teach courses in all levels of ballet to students in both high school and undergraduate programs and in addition, be able to teach several of the following: Pointe, Virtuosity (traditionally Men’s Class), Partnering, Repertory, Composition, Dance History, Character, Musical Theater, Improvisation, Anatomy, Pedagogy, Career Preparation, and Contemporary Dance.

Other duties include choreographing or staging work for UNCSA productions on an annual basis, advising students, writing letters of recommendation, participating in departmental administration, audition and recruiting efforts, serving on school and campus wide committees and fulfill duties as assigned by the Dean. Notification of intent to hire for this position is April 7, 2023, with teaching responsibilities beginning in Fall 2023.

This position has a 4:4 teaching load, and service to the department is expected.
