Williams College seeks an enthusiastic professional to serve as Director of Milestone Reunion Programs (50thand 25th), the College’s most significant on-going capital giving effort. The Milestone Programs at Williams are industry leaders and bring together the best elements of both Alumni Relations and Development practices to engage and inspire alumni to support the college at the highest levels with a Director who will lead a program that prioritizes teamwork while building close partnerships with sophisticated and passionate alumni volunteers.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Development, the Director works closely with the Director of Gift Planning and the Office of Alumni Engagement/Alumni Fund and is responsible for all aspects of the 50thexperience, including planning and directing the five-year capital campaign for each class, serving as a major and planned gifts officer and managing all other aspects of the 50threunion program. The Director of Milestone Reunion Programs also oversees the Director of the 25thReunion Program and subsequently is responsible for close to $25M in fundraising annually.

Successful Directors have been energetic leaders, great listeners, relationship builders, strong writers and hyper-organized team-players. They have also consistently been elevated into key positions of leadership and responsibility thanks to the experience gained in this role.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and experience in nonprofits or higher education
  • Exceptional, multifaceted communication skills - oral, written and listening
  • Demonstrated autonomy in progressively complex professional roles
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to connect and partner with a range of people including senior staff, sophisticated donors, and volunteers
  • Very strong organizational skills and attention to details are essential
  • Direct experience soliciting, negotiating and closing major gifts, comprehensive campaign experience, and knowledge of current fundraising trends and best practices is preferred
Pay range is from $100,000 to $115,000, commensurate with experience. This role will be based primarily on campus, with up to two days a week remote subject to policy, and includes travel about 20% of the time.
