Position Overview
Starting salary range is $73,789 - $84,862. The initial salary
offer is commensurate with education and related work
experience.
The Director of Dual Credit provides leadership and coordination
for the dual credit program's development, administration, and
budget. The Director builds relationships with all in-district and
services area high schools to increase dual credit enrollment by
assessing the needs of high school students and school districts
and coordinates with the college academic departments to provide
courses in response to needs. The Director ensures that the dual
credit program is administered in accordance with standards
established by Lee College, The Texas Higher Education Board, and
the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for the development,
expansion, and administration of the Lee College Dual Credit
Program.
Promote the growth, development, marketing, and administration
of the dual credit program, including the development and
dissemination of guidelines for instructors, schools, students, and
parents
Work with Lee College and school district administrators to
maintain the Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) that reflects the
dynamic nature of dual credit partnerships.
Implement federal, state, and institutional policies and
procedures, and recommend policy and procedural changes.
Ensure enrollment activities are efficient and effective.
Establish dual credit goals and assessments that will guide and
inform the program.
Manage dual credit advisors to ensure efficient work processes
and outreach activities create efficiencies and top-of-mind
awareness of Lee College dual credit.
Facilitate a work environment that encourages knowledge of,
respect for, and development of skills to engage with other
cultures or backgrounds.
Cooperatively work with college advisors, counselors, and staff
to remain current in program changes.
As needed, assist dual credit advisors in the admissions,
testing, and registration processes.
Serve as the contact to the administration and staff in public,
private, and home-schooled settings.
Handle phone calls and emails from counselors, parents,
students, and other interested parties regarding the Dual Credit
program.
Make onsite visits to service area high schools to facilitate
communication and provide support.
Create and maintain dual credit handbook(s) as a resource for
high school counselors, instructors, parents, and students.
Participate in Dual Credit faculty development.
Travel to in-district and service area sites is expected
regularly.
Maintain enrollment data by high school and course and make it
available throughout the registration and periodically at critical
points in the semester.
Address complaints and disciplinary issues, including academic
and behavioral, and refer to appropriate contacts at the high
school and college, as needed, in a timely manner.
Contribute to the achievement of the College's recruitment and
retention goals by identifying opportunities in the marketplace for
expansion and collaborating with Recruitment, Student Affairs,
Grant, and Instructional departments to build a diverse and
responsive dual credit program that encourages dual credit students
to consider attending Lee College upon graduation.
Determine Texas Success Initiative obligation based on current
policies, approved tests, and applicable exemptions.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain dual credit web pages on the Lee College website.
Generate reports for the dual credit program from data in
PeopleSoft.
All registration times are peak times requiring extra duties,
time, and days.
Supervise staff who may assist with dual credit.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills &
Abilities
Bachelor's degree
Two (2) years of related experience
Excellent computer skills with the Microsoft Office suite, in
particular, Word and Excel
Ability to develop and maintain reports about dual credit
program and furnish data, as requested
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Ability to establish rapport and work collaboratively with
faculty, administrators, and other staff members in both college
and high school settings
Ability to work well with individuals from diverse
backgrounds
Must be able to travel - Assignment will include in-district
high schools, as well as service area high schools in East Harris,
Liberty, Chambers Counties, and other locations with signed
MOUs
Must be available to work evenings and weekends when
needed
Understand Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board rules
regarding dual enrollment programs
Ability to work well with individuals from diverse
backgrounds
