ATTENTION:

The Department of Integrated Studies in the College of Integrated Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County seeks a tenure-track faculty member in the area of Psychology beginning August 2023. This is a full-time position with responsibilities for teaching undergraduate courses in Psychology, research, and service to the university, community, and profession. Research and teaching expertise should complement existing faculty expertise and may include the scholarship of teaching and learning.



JOB DETAILS:

The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in introductory and intermediate level psychology as part of the Associate of Arts and Sciences program. Interest in teaching courses related to human services, education or counseling a plus.

Teaching is a primary focus of this position but the candidate will also be expected to pursue an active research agenda that engages undergraduate students, results in publications and contributes to advancing the department, university, the profession, and society. The candidate will also be expected to participate in service activities and embrace the principles of diversity and inclusion as a member of the university community.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Ph.D. in Psychology. [ABD candidates may apply but must have their degree completed by the contract start date in August 2023; if not, they will be hired on a one-year contract with the understanding that their degree will be completed before January 2024 in advance of their first scheduled review.] Demonstrated excellence in and commitment to teaching with an emphasis on promoting the success of undergraduate students, clear evidence of scholarly potential, commitment to working with diverse populations and serving as active member of the university community.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching responsibilities may include the courses: Introductory Psychology, Lifespan Developmental Psychology, Psychology of Childhood and Adolescence, Abnormal Psychology Other courses may be assigned based on interest and experience. Candidates should demonstrate a clear record and/ or evidence of potential in teaching scholarly activity. Service responsibilities include committee service at the departmental, college, and university levels as well as discipline related service beyond the campus based on candidate’s expertise and interest.



DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:

The Department of Integrated Studies is a multi-disciplinary department of dedicated educators--currently more than 40 full and part-time faculty and academic staff. The department is located in Janesville at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County branch campus (known informally as “U Rock.”) The College of Integrated Sciences enrolls approximately 1,000 students who are completing the first two years of their undergraduate program. The department offers the Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree as well as the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) degree.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
