Position Summary

The Assistant Vice President for International Programs and Global Engagement reports directly to the Vice Provost for Student Academic Success. This position leads the University in a much more globally oriented and internationally connected environment. The Assistant Vice President is responsible for the planning, marketing, delivery, and oversight of the university's international programs and activities and provides leadership and vision to a comprehensive range of programs, services, and activities for International Programs and Global Engagement. The Assistant Vice President will work closely with university leaders and external partners to expand and enhance the successful implementation of on-campus goals for comprehensive internationalization.

FLSA: Exempt

CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,250- $18,750 per month

Hiring Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Recruitment Type: Regular (At-Will)

Time Base: Full-Time

Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and as needed.

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  1. A terminal degree in public administration, international affairs, business, or other relevant discipline
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of significant experience in global engagement and international education programs
  3. Knowledge of international issues and trends in higher education
  4. Administrative experience including program management, supervision of staff, and fiscal management of a comprehensive budget (i.e. sponsored funding, state funds, auxiliary services, and grants)
  5. Experience working with leaders in the public and private sectors

  • Ability to work effectively on program and policy development with faculty and administrators
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to promote collaboration and teamwork; ability to develop and maintain domestic and International partnerships
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and diplomacy in intercultural and international settings
  • Ability to travel domestically and abroad

    Preferred Qualifications

    12. Experience as a "responsible officer (RO)" for a campus through Homeland Security (able to issue F-l and J-1 certifications) and experience working with SEVIS (Student Exchange and Visitor Information System)

    13. Academic experience in curriculum development and instruction

    14. Demonstrated evidence of success in obtaining funds through federal funding programs which support internationalization of academic programs and global research and development

    15. Cultural competencies acquired through international travel and scholarship

    16. Current record of scholarly activity and strong involvement in professional associations
