Talent and Organizational Development Specialist

Job Description

The Talent and Organizational Development Specialist works as part of the Talent Development team to develop and deliver a variety of programs in leadership development, supervision, management, and organizational development for the university. This position develops creative solutions and solves problems leveraging their own knowledge and the expertise of partners to deliver highly effective talent, learning, and performance initiatives. This position succeeds at collaborating with HR partners to create developmental learning experiences that support the growth and development of leaders, followers, and teams within our organization. A collaborative growth mindset is imperative with this position and must be able to give, receive, and apply constructive feedback. In tandem with other Talent Development team members, this position helps to develop and execute talent and organizational development strategies including assessments and analytics for measuring effectiveness. This position develops general and tailored leadership development programs and individual strategies to address organizational development gaps for supervisors, managers, and teams. This position facilitates solutions and experiences to increase organizational effectiveness, leadership competency, leader-follower engagement, succession planning, change management, and culture development as part of our organizational development initiatives. The role helps to develop and integrate human resource learning programs for the campus community to achieve strategic goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in leadership, human resources, IO psychology, organizational development or related area with significant experience in HR leadership.
• Strong planning, organizational, problem solving, and project management skills.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong presentation and group facilitation skills in delivery of professional and organizational development programs.
• Critical thinking ability with sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy, with a high degree of personal integrity, including the ability to manage sensitive information.
• Ability to manage and resolve conflict.
• Attention to detail and the highest standards for excellence in execution.
• Strong emotional intelligence, creative and collaborative with a growth-mindset leadership style.
• An adaptable and flexible approach, with enthusiasm for giving and receiving feedback up, down, and sideways through consultation, mentoring, and/or coaching individuals and groups.
• Ability to manage and support the assessment of organizational needs and the design, implementation and evaluation of programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of our university team members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in related area.
• Certifications and/or experience in coaching, consulting, facilitating personality, leadership, and/or organizational development assessments (e.g., CliftonStrengths, MBTI, EQi 2.0, 360 evaluations, etc.) with individuals and groups organizing skills to help managers develop strong working teams.
• Experience in building and implementing leadership development programs.
• Prior experience in Learning & Development, HR, and Organizational Development fields.

Salary Information

Commensurate with experience with a salary range of $75,000-$80,000 per year
