The Department of Kinesiology at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for a tenure-track position in Biomechanics at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2023. This position is open to candidates with training in Biomechanics whose research focuses on clinical (e.g. musculoskeletal injury) or sports biomechanics. Primary teaching assignments will include undergraduate and graduate Biomechanics courses.

Position
CSUF faculty are committed teacher/scholars who bring research and creative discovery to life for students in classrooms, labs, studios, and individually mentored projects. They teach broadly in the curricula of their departments, advise students, and serve on departmental and university-wide committees. The primary responsibilities of the person in this position will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Biomechanics and supervising students in the Biomechanics laboratory. This person will also be responsible for producing scholarship and creative activities commensurate with the requirements for tenure. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to and participate in the life and development of the department, mentor graduate students, serve on committees, and participate in the broader university and disciplinary communities.
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Kinesiology or related field with an
emphasis in Biomechanics by the time of appointment;
- Demonstrated ability/potential to provide high-quality
undergraduate and graduate education to a diverse student
population, including first‐generation college students;
- Record of scholarship in the area of clinical or sports
biomechanics; and
- A demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in teaching,
scholarship, and/or service.
Preferred Qualifications
The Department is particularly interested in candidates with: - Experience teaching coursework in Biomechanics
- Experience with programming (MATLAB, Visual 3D, etc.)

Multiple positions may be hired from this recruitment based on the strength of the applicant pool.
The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $5,405 to $11,994 per month (12 monthly payments per academic year). Anticipated hiring range is $6,345 to $6,477 per month. Faculty salaries are subject to budgetary authorization and any California State University System faculty contract increases. Summer research grants, moving expenses, start‐up funds, and a reduced teaching load may be available.
