Job Summary/Basic Function:
Provide custodial services, furniture movement, event support services, and other support operations to our campus community and guests.
- Perform custodial services in order to maintain a sanitary, safe and inviting environment for students, staff and visitors. This includes cleaning all building areas and furnishings, using appropriate equipment, cleaning chemicals and taking appropriate safety measures.
- Rubbish and recycling removal. Empty rubbish and recycling containers and transport materials for consolidation. Clean bins, re-line containers, and replace signage as needed.
- Comply with security and safety guidelines. maintain security of assigned areas, observe safety rules and regulations, and report defective or unsafe conditions to the supervisor. Maintain clean workspace, storage locations and supply inventory.
- Provide department emergency response services, i.e. water removal, when necessary or conditions warrant, or when “called in” for emergency situations. Work overtime as necessary or periodically required, and have flexibility in shift hours.
- Furniture movement. Move furniture as needed or requested, within or between college facilities. Re- arrange furnishings as needed to maintain aesthetics and utilization.
- Exercise sound judgement when using equipment, two-way radios and chemicals, and must follow and use approved safety standards and precautions. Attend periodic training sessions, department and college events and programs when requested.
- Respond to all work order and service requests and complaints in a professional, courteous and timely manner. Follow college “Vision of Service” practice.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture and operate bulky and heavy equipment.
- Physically capable of lifting 40-50 lbs.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedure.
