The University of California San Diego, a forward-thinking research institution that receives the nation's second-highest volume of admissions applications, seeks a collaborative and dynamic professional to serve as its next Director of Enrollment Management Analytics.

The director of enrollment management analytics will report directly to Jim Rawlins, associate vice chancellor of enrollment management (AVC EM). The director is the principal analyst and strategic adviser to the AVC EM and will assume leadership and full functional responsibility for the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and management of the data-related needs of the enrollment management department. Moreover, the director will collaborate closely with the Office of Institutional Research (IR) headed by Christine Hurley, serving as an adjunct member of the team, participating in joint projects along with regular meetings, cross-communication and information sharing. The director applies advanced knowledge and understanding of organizational objectives and goals to research, gather, analyze, and summarize complex and sensitive issues with organization-wide impact, and to do so in creative and effective ways.

The director is responsible for selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results, and works on complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The incumbent will also provide work direction to a professional staff in the planning, development, organization, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of cross-functional department projects and operations related to data and information systems. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced-level statistical knowledge along with experience in data collection and analysis techniques and software platforms. In addition, they will have a strong ability to synthesize and summarize complex information in formats appropriate to various audiences. Flexibility, creativity and a broadly strategic mindset will be crucial to success in this role. Throughout their work, the new incumbent will demonstrate an understanding of how equity work is intertwined with work in data and analysis. Seven or more years of experience in enrollment management or undergraduate admissions in a selective university setting is preferred. A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred.
