The Department of Accounting, Finance, and Economics has three openings for Assistant Professors of Accounting, two based in Stephenville, Texas and one in Waco, Texas. Our graduates pass the state CPA exam at some of the highest rates of public Texas schools. The College received AACSB accreditation in 2022, the same year the university achieved R2 Carnegie Classification. Beyond collegial, our faculty treat each other like family and we welcome you joining us in our common endeavor.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the teaching/learning process and will also participate in the necessary operations of the institution.  Teaching responsibilities will consist of face to face and online teaching in undergraduate and graduate accounting courses. A normal load is four undergraduate or three graduate courses per semester.  Teaching may be required at different campus locations as needed.

Stephenville: Courses are typically taught during the 16-week term. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work and teaching requirements indicate.

Waco: Two courses will be taught in the first 8-week term and two in the second 8-week term. Work hours: Most courses will be taught during the evening in Waco, 6:30-9:15 PM, with other office hours as work and teaching requirements indicate. Represent the department in Waco to help grow the Accounting program and strengthen community relationships with potential employers; Work in partnership with student success personnel on student advising and orientation.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

100% Teaching and Service: The successful candidate will be expected to teach four accounting courses, remain current in discipline, and provide service to the university and community.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated ability in the discipline and show clear promise of teaching excellence as evidenced in evaluation by peers, department head, and college dean. Demonstrated ability for continuing scholarly contribution beyond that required for completion of the terminal degree. Documented yearly progress of professional achievement in teaching, scholarship, and service.
