The Department of Accounting, Finance, and Economics has two openings for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting position for Spring 2023, one based in Stephenville, Texas and one based in Waco, Texas. This position will begin January 1st and will be for the duration of the spring semester.  Primarily responsible for the teaching/learning process and will also participate in the necessary operations of the institution.

Stephenville: Teaching load will comprise three undergraduate accounting courses and one graduate accounting course, taught during the 16-week term. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work and teaching requirements indicate.

Waco: Teaching load will comprise four undergraduate accounting courses. Two courses will be taught in the first 8-week term and two in the second 8-week term. Work hours: Most courses will be taught during the evening in Waco, 6:30-9:15 PM, with other office hours as work and teaching requirements indicate. Teaching may be required at different campus locations as needed.

Additional benefits and information: The Department of Accounting, Finance, and Economics is in the process of hiring three full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professors of Accounting. While there is no guarantee that the successful applicant for this position will also be hired for one of the tenure-track positions, they will have the opportunity to be observed and trained in teaching and research by award-winning faculty.  Responsibilities:


100% Teaching and Service: The successful candidate will be expected to teach four accounting courses, remain current in discipline, and provide service to the university and community.

Required Education

Ideal candidate must have a terminal degree in Accounting or ABD with at least 18 graduate hours in accounting.  Previous teaching experience; CPA or other certification preferred but not required.
