Albright College is accepting applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Director of Admission to manage a territory for recruitment of first year students. The successful candidate will be articulate about the importance of a liberal arts education and will meet the following requirements: be an early innovator who is savvy with social media and with a great sense of humor and compassion; have excellent oral, writing, interpersonal, technology and organizational skills; must be comfortable with public speaking; understand and interpret the goals and objectives of students and provide appropriate advice and counsel to students and their families; advocate for and embody qualities associated with a diverse, equitable and inclusive community. For either position, a Bachelor’s degree is required (Master’s preferred for Associate), and minimum of 2-4 years (Assistant) or 4-6 (Associate) of related professional experience in higher education.

 

Extensive travel (up to 7 weeks in the fall and 3 weeks in the spring) including evening/weekend assignments in various geographic recruiting areas required.

 

 

Qualifications/Prerequisites:

  1. COMMUNICATION
    1. Strong ability to communicate well and work within a team Strong ability to write and communicate effectively with outside constituencies
  2. SKILLS
    1. Demonstrated commitment to building an inclusive and equitable Albright community, as described in Albright College’s Inclusivity and Equity Statement.
    2. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Must be available to travel extensively and work nights and weekends when necessary
    3. Demonstrated ability to interact with prospective students and their families, as well as employee groups within the College and external constituencies.
    4. Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to files, correspondence, reports and other information.
    5. Demonstrated working knowledge of computers and social media. Strong organizational abilities and time-management skills.
    6. Proficient in the usage of computer-based programs including Microsoft Office, admission management data systems, and other technologies
  3. EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
    1. Assistant Director
      • Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience
    2. Associate Director
      • Minimum of 4-6 years of related experience, preferably in college admission or recruitment related functions
  4. EDUCATION
    1. Assistant Director
      • Bachelor’s degree required
    2. Associate Director
      • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  5. LICENSES
  6. Valid driver’s license
