We are excited to grow our College of Education’s program in Educational Measurement and Research! The Educational Measurement and Research program has seven faculty members and offers degree programs at the Master’s, Ed.S., and Ph.D. levels. The Educational Measurement and Research program is housed in the Department of Educational and Psychological Studies. The Department of Educational and Psychological Studies is home to six other programs: Educational Psychology, Exercise Science, Instructional Technology, Interdisciplinary Education, School Psychology, and Social Foundations, collectively committed to “Advancing rigorous inquiry and preparing highly qualified, culturally responsive professionals.”

This is a 9-month, tenure-track position that will begin in August 7, 2023. Major responsibilities include teaching graduate-level courses in qualitative research (delivered face-to-face, hybrid, hyflex, and online); maintaining an active program of research and scholarship in qualitative research; securing external funding to support research and training agendas; advising and mentoring master’s, Ed.S., and doctoral degree students from diverse backgrounds; and providing service to colleagues within the College, University, P-12 schools, and professional associations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:                                           

Earned doctorate in research methods (or a related field such as education policy, literacy, educational psychology, philosophy of education, or social/cultural foundations)

Evidence of scholarly productivity in areas of Qualitative Research that add to the research strengths of the program

Demonstrated ability or potential to teach graduate level Qualitative Research courses

Demonstrated ability and/or commitment to collaborate with researchers across disciplines and methodologies

Experience, education, and/or scholarship promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 18 earned doctoral hours in Qualitative Research as part of a Major, minor, or graduate certificate or equivalent
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience in Qualitative Research
  • Potential to teach introductory-level educational research methods courses (including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches)
  • Evidence of scholarship that advances Qualitative Research methods and/or methodologies. We are particularly interested in critical qualitative scholars whose focus on equity can inform teaching and inquiry across many research epistemologies, projects, and teams  
  • Experience with virtual instruction
  • Record of grant funding or the potential to secure grant funding
