Department of Psychological Science

 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for two nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of Psychology faculty positions in the Department of Psychological Science beginning August 2023.

 

One lecturer line is for a faculty specializing in teaching diversity courses, such as Psychology of Gender, Cross-Cultural Psychology, Ethnic Minority Psychology, and Psychology of Prejudice and Privilege.

 

The second lecturer line is for a faculty member to teach core courses, such as Introduction to General Psychology, Research Methods, Statistical Applications in Psychological Science, and Advanced Laboratory in Psychological Science. Responsibilities Include

  • Teach a standard teaching load of 27 credit hours per academic year
  • Teach a variety of undergraduate psychology courses
  • Teach a multimodal mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online courses in psychology at our two instructional sites (Kennesaw and Marietta). Courses taught will be based on candidate’s areas of expertise and program demand
  • Demonstrate teaching flexibility in times, days, and modalities of courses
  • Hold office hours
  • Attend department meetings
  • Engage in service to the department, college, and/or university

 

Required Qualifications Include

  • A Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Psychology or a closely related discipline. 

OR 

 

  • A Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline.  

AND

 

  • A record of effective university teaching.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include

  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses in psychology, both in person and online
  • Experience teaching a culturally and an ethnically diverse community
  • Experience mentoring undergraduate students
