Assistant Professor - Quantitative Methods

We are excited to grow our College of Education’s program in Educational Measurement and Research. The Educational Measurement and Research program includes seven faculty members and offers degree programs at the Master’s, Ed.S., and Ph.D. levels. The Educational Measurement and Research program is housed in the Department of Educational and Psychological Studies. The Department of Educational and Psychological Studies is home to six other programs: Educational Psychology, Exercise Science, Instructional Technology, Interdisciplinary Education, School Psychology, and Social Foundations, collectively committed to “Advancing rigorous inquiry and preparing highly qualified, culturally responsive professionals.”

POSITION:

Assistant Professor, College of Education (Tampa Campus), Department of Educational and Psychological Studies; 9- month, tenure track, to begin August 7, 2023. Major responsibilities include: teaching graduate courses in quantitative research methods at the master’s, Ed.S., and doctoral levels (delivered face-to-face and online); maintaining an active program of research and scholarship; securing external funding to support research and training agendas; advising and mentoring master’s, Ed.S., and doctoral degree students; and providing service to colleagues within the College, University, P-12 schools, and professional associations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Earned doctorate with a major in educational research, quantitative research methods, evaluation, measurement, or related field no later than August 7, 2023

Graduate-level coursework in quantitative research methods

Evidence of scholarly productivity

Experience or demonstrated commitment to graduate-level teaching

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Evidence of successful teaching experience in quantitative research methods
• Expertise and a research record in areas that include but are not limited to one or more of the following areas: quasi-experimental designs, research designs for causal inference, cluster randomized designs, categorical data analysis, longitudinal research including intensive longitudinal designs, secondary data analysis, survey sampling, propensity score analysis, missing data, Bayesian analysis, big data analytics, machine learning, data mining, data visualization, SMART designs, Monte Carlo simulation, or other approaches that add to the research strengths of the program
• Experience with computer programs such as SAS, SPSS, Mplus, R, Python
• Experience with software development
• Experience with online instruction and the use of technology in instruction
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring and/or in supervising thesis and dissertation research
• Record of federal or other major grant funding or the potential to secure grant funding
• Demonstrated ability and/or commitment to collaborate with researchers across disciplines and methodologies
• Evidence of ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in school districts, state departments of education, testing companies, or universities in the areas of research, measurement, or evaluation

• Experience with, or commitment to, diversity, equity, and inclusion
