BASIC FUNCTION

Works with Education Department and partner school districts to develop high quality field placement sites for practicum and student teaching. Orients students and clinical educators to field responsibilities. Evaluates field placement process. Secure and oversee the placements of students working in the field. Collect and organize data for analysis.
  • Develop and sustain partnerships with targeted pk-12 school districts.
  • Recruit clinical educators according to system's protocol for all undergraduate programs.
  • Organize orientation sessions and professional development for clinical educators.
  • Participate in the orientation of Salve students to the student teaching experience.
  • Maintain documentation (Student Teaching Handbook, Assessment Handbook, and evaluation tools) pertaining to student teaching placement and supervision.
  • Assist in the evaluation of quality of field sites, university supervisors, and clinical educators.
  • Assist faculty in securing methods/practicum field placements.
  • Document field experiences as required by Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE).
  • Liaison to RIDE in relation to student teaching certificates and initial licensure.
  • Prepare Title II report for submittal.
  • Maintain partnership agreements with districts/sites.
  • Develop clinical educator recruitment materials.
  • Develop clinical educator selection materials.
  • In collaboration with program coordinators and university supervisors, manage the placement/matching of students with clinical educators.
  • Contribute to student teaching seminars as appropriate.
  • Facilitate and coordinate criminal background checks according to district regulations.
  • Maintain and develop clinical educator data file.
  • Maintain data via One Drive.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in the field of education.
  • Proficiency in MS Office/Windows software required.
  • Experience is in K-12 public education and data management as well as organizational and communication skills.
