Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Administration and Finance, the Senior Data and Planning Support Analyst for the D'Amore-McKim College of Business will work closely with key college constituents to identify and conduct data analysis projects that will support the mission and goals of the College. The incumbent will provide support to key projects through data collection, computational support, and data interpretation and reporting. The incumbent will ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures to systematize the data reporting process. The incumbent will use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling and analytical techniques to develop reports used in key data submissions to internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will work with leadership to identify KPIs that measure the effectiveness of business decisions. They will use graphs, infographics, and other methods to develop dashboards to aid in visualizing the data.
Key Responsibilities:
Data collection, assessment, interpretation, and reporting (45%)
The incumbent will be responsible for collecting relevant data (both internal and external) to be used by college constituents to support decision making and strategic direction, resource allocation, internal and external reporting, and other operational decisions. Success factors include the accuracy and relevance of the data, analysis, and the clarity and usefulness of final reports.
Data Visualization (25%)
Oversee the development and maintenance of key performance dashboards that show progress toward strategic and operational goals related to, but not limited to, enrollment, financial performance, student success, fundraising, and research. Work closely with College stakeholders to identify opportunities for additional dashboard requirements as needs evolve.
Ad Hoc Duties (20%)
Perform ad hoc research and analysis to support special projects and strategic initiatives serving faculty and staff across D'Amore-McKim School of Business in meeting their reporting and analytical needs.
Process Improvement (10%)
Identify opportunities to define areas for process improvement and work with stakeholders to design and build technical processes that improve efficiencies and address business issues and needs.
Qualifications:
- BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field preferred
- 2-4 years of experience with data reporting and analysis;
- Understanding of, and experience, using analytical concepts and tools;
- Demonstrated reporting and data visualization skills;
- Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities;
- Ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people and projects simultaneously;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
- Experience working with University data and systems preferred;
- Experience documenting business procedures and processes preferred.
