Position Summary

The Deku lab research focuses on the development of developing novel materials and fabrication processes that enable the seamless integration of microelectronics with the nervous system.

The Postdoctoral Scholar will be responsible for conducting research and technical activities related to sponsored projects in Dr. Deku's lab; will fabricate devices, conduct surgical implants and data analysis and collaborate on reporting findings and discoveries in written and verbal form; and will manage, maintain and provide technical expertise for Deku lab equipment, protocols, and programs.

The position will be given a level of independence depending on the level of experience, with the goal of becoming a fully independent researcher by the end of the term. For the purpose of acquiring additional professional skills needed to pursue a career path in the chosen field, this position will have a formal mentor plan.
Minimum Requirements

• Ph.D. in relevant engineering or neuroscience field.
  
• Six months of lab experience in neuroengineering or neuroscience or a related field in a university setting.
  Professional Competencies
  
  
• Demonstrated strong written communication skills.
  
• Strong academic record in a major field.
  Preferred Qualifications
  
  
• Expertise with small animal electrophysiology or imaging experiments.
