AVAILABLE POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN STEM CELLS AND NEUROGENOMICS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, INSTITUTE FOR GENOME SCIENCES

Dr. Seth Ament’s lab at the Institute for Genome Sciences (IGS) of the University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks an outstanding postdoctoral fellow for an NIH-funded study on the genomic and neurodevelopmental mechanisms underlying risk for psychiatric disorders. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in molecular biology, neuroscience, or a related discipline and will have experience in the culture of human pluripotent stem cells, genome editing, and/or single-cell genomics.

The Ament lab has a track record of high-profile publications at the forefront of research on psychiatric genetics and in training students and fellows with successful careers in academia and industry. IGS is an internationally recognized research center comprised of interdisciplinary, multidepartment teams of investigators who use the powerful tools of genomics and bioinformatics to understand genome function in health and disease. IGS is housed within the cutting-edge Health Sciences Research Facility III building on the Downtown Baltimore campus of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, in close proximity to many other labs with complementary interests in neuroscience, stem cell biology, and precision medicine.
