Hiring Range: $91,839-$114,800 Annually, plus full state benefits

Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. As a comprehensive, multi-campus community college, the College provides quality, accessible, and affordable educational opportunities for the residents of the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, Culpeper, King George, Madison, Orange, Spotsylvania, and Stafford. Germanna Community College is seeking a Projects Director for a Title III grant position. This position will oversee and execute all facets of the Title III grant from the Department of Education Strengthening Our Institutions including the annual reporting submission and the end of the grant reporting process. The duration of the grant is a 4-year period. The program director will supervise four staff positions as well as recruit one annually full-time faculty fellow.

The overarching goal of this position is to rectify achievement gaps among student populations by providing academic and personal support that promotes student success by increasing opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to engage together in student activities and programming.

Administrative Responsibilities: Project management and Direct Oversight

Provides strategic leadership and technical operational, financial, and managerial leadership for successful implementation of project activities.

Ensures that the program is technically sound, evidence-based, and consistent with Department of Education priorities.

Provides oversight of program implementation including all activities, outputs, and outcomes related to project management and administration, including reporting, budget development and monitoring, financial transactions, execution of project plans, and project performance.

Provide professional development training to create inclusive and supportive learning environments that integrate culturally responsive teaching methods and conduct peer review of the curriculum using cultural competency and inclusivity as a lens.

Special Assignments:

KSA's/Required Qualifications:
  • A master’s degree from a regionally accredited university
  • Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check
  • Demonstrates commitment to promoting and enhancing equity, inclusion, and diversity
  • Knowledge of effective strategies for working with diverse faculty, staff, and students
  • Leadership experience managing staff with competing priorities
  • Experience implementing innovative, culturally responsive, and inclusive instructional models and pedagogies that foster increased academic support for low-income, underrepresented students
  • Formal training or experience in best practices and programming improves the persistence, academic standing, and graduation rates of underrepresented and first-generation college students
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in instruction, curriculum development
  • and academic assessment at the college level
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication skills, including the ability to converse, present, and correspond clearly and effectively in verbal, written and electronic form


Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Doctorate from a regionally accredited university
