The Department of Decision Sciences (DDS) is the home of the Masters in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (MSLSCM), the Bachelor of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (BSLSCM) the Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Project Management (MSPM and BSPM) and the Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM). There are approximately 2000 students pursuing degrees in the DDS. The department currently has 6 full-time faculty. Disciplines housed in the DDS include logistics and supply chain management, project management, and engineering management.

The Opportunity:

The Department of Decision Sciences in the College of Business at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide (ERAU-W) welcomes applications for a 10-month Tenure Track Assistant Professor position for the MS in Engineering Management program. The Worldwide campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University offers programs by means of award-winning technology that leverages online and face-to-face instruction through a network of locations designed to support student advancement in the U.S. and abroad.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the disciplines including, engineering management and project management via traditional classroom delivery, hybrid, online, and/or interactive teleconferenced learning technologies. The faculty member may be asked to serve in a variety of college administrative roles including course monitor, course developer, college committee service, and service in the faculty senate. Other areas of responsibility include producing scholarly work and service to the Department of Decision Sciences, College of Business, and University. Must be willing to travel to different ERAU Worldwide campuses to teach and to attend meetings and conferences. The position doesn’t require relocation as the faculty member will operate from his/her home location.

Qualifications

Minimum ualifications:

A doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in Engineering Management, or any field closely related to engineering management is required. Preferred candidates will have significant industry experience in managing within a STEM environment. The candidate should show excellence in teaching and demonstrate a strong research record/potential through publications and/or pipeline that would include working papers or papers under review. Candidates must also have excellent teaching evaluations in the area of engineering management, project management, or other related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching web-based courses, participation in university committees or related community organizations, participation in state/national professional organizations (including, ASEM, IEEE, PMI), significant industry experience, past successful professional experiences with groups from diverse backgrounds. Experience with quantitative analysis tools such as Palisade, Microsoft Project, R, and other related tools is beneficial. Experience in the aviation or aerospace industry is preferred.
