Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Health and Behavior, provide course instruction to students utilizing multiple teaching formats. Provide academic and professional services as dictated by the FA contract and professional standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The position will involve teaching primarily assigned nursing and health courses within the School of Nursing. Duties and responsibilities of a faculty member as defined by the FA contract will be expected. A minimum teaching load of 12 credits per semester is the standard assignment, other duties include departmental and university service, academic advising, course and program Assessment, and scholarly activity.
EXPECTATIONS FOR SCHOOL OF NURSING: The successful faculty will be responsible for providing didactic and clinical instruction including evaluation of nursing students. Professional and scholarly activities are expected, but quality undergraduate teaching is the primary responsibility. Additional responsibilities of the position include recruiting and advising students, marketing programs, course and program assessment, and university/community service. The successful candidate is expected to work in a positive collegial relationship with faculty and staff. Faculty are expected to support student learning through the development of a positive learning environment and use of evidence based teaching modalities. Teaching assignment will be primarily face to face, but may include online or blended formats for students located both on the primary campus and regional centers.
