The Alverno College Presidential Search Committee invites nominations, expressions of interest, and applications as it seeks an exceptional leader to serve as the institution’s ninth president. Founded in 1887, Alverno College is a Catholic, Franciscan liberal arts institution for women in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sponsored by the School Sisters of Saint Francis (SSSF). The College also offers co-educational graduate studies, and prepares all its students for lives of personal and professional distinction and meaningful engagement with the world. With a Fall 2021 enrollment of 917 undergraduate and 905 graduate students, the College has earned international accolades for its highly effective ability-based, assessment-as-learning approach to education, which emphasizes hands-on experience and develops in-demand skills. Alverno consistently ranks among the top schools in the Midwest for its commitment to undergraduate teaching and innovation by U.S. News & World Report.

The next President of Alverno College, in partnership with the Board of Trustees, faculty, and administration, will intentionally create an inclusive community that engages students in active and collaborative learning, The successful candidate will drive academic excellence and innovation, build on the College’s strengths, and enhance its reputation and stature nationally and internationally. The next President will champion the educational mission of the College, leveraging the College’s unique identity, and seizing opportunities to expand its impact. The leader will possess an unwavering appreciation of women’s education and its transformational possibilities, embracing and furthering the College’s deep commitment to social justice, inclusion, and equity. The next President will continue to build, recruit, and retain an outstanding team of academics and administrators who honor the College’s Franciscan and Catholic values of fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and community.
