FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Sociology at Hunter College of The City University of New York invites applications for a position at the rank of Doctoral Lecturer. We seek an engaging teacher, with experience teaching Quantitative Methods courses and a proven commitment to student success. Preference will be given to those who can teach required undergraduate Research Methods, Statistics, and /or Capstone courses, as well as graduate Methods courses with a digital emphasis. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in teaching development and scholarly activity. This position has a teaching load of 27 credits per academic year (nine 3-credit courses). Allocation for student advising will be counted towards the teaching load. The position includes service on programmatic, departmental, divisional, and college committees. This is a full-time position and we anticipate a start date of January 25, 2023. The position is “Certificate of Continuing Employment” eligible after 5 years.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in Sociology or equivalent required for Doctoral Lecturer. Additionally, the preferred candidate will have experience teaching large diverse groups of students with varying abilities, and experience in undergraduate advising and/or mentoring. Applicants should also have a commitment to teaching initiatives, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
COMPENSATION
Salary range: $55,677 to $96,351 commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
