Job Summary:
The Sports Performance Coordinator will assist with the implementation all aspects of strength training, energy system development, and injury reduction and return to play protocols, as well as nutrition, hydration, and meal planning as necessary, for the assigned teams. All responsibilities are expected be performed in collaboration with the Manager of Sports Performance, as well as the team’s respective Athletic Trainer and Sports Medicine team, and the Head Coach and sport staff. All duties and tasks should also fall in compliance with all Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
( MEAC ) and National Collegiate Athletic Association ( NCAA ) Division I rules and guidelines.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Create and oversee sport specific strength training programs.
- Schedule and oversee weightlifting session with all teams.
- Oversee each team’s nutrition, hydration, and meal planning.
- Work with athletic trainer on pre and post injury training.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field.
- Master’s degree in Exercise Science or related field (preferred).
- Strength and conditioning certification ( NSCA ).
- Current first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation ( CPR ), and automated external defibrillation ( AED ) certifications.
- Valid driver’s license.
At least two years’ experience in sport performance or strength and conditioning coaching.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Characteristics:
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Physical Demands of the Position:
Physical activity required for this position. Working environments include indoor and outdoor facilities.
