Mechanical Engineering Professor - Mechatronics and Robotics

The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a faculty position in Mechanical Engineering in the broad areas of Mechatronics and Robotics. Space Robotics is of major interest. The available opening is at the ranks of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Candidates with a strong record of interdisciplinary research in emerging areas are preferred, especially scholars who efficiently combine analytical, computational, and experimental approaches to address fundamental and applied topics. The Division emphasizes high-level academic research resulting in high-impact publications with tangible societal impacts, such as investigations that results in patents, prototypes, and private or public sector adoption.

Successful candidates will receive a generous startup package, as well as renewable research funding to hire research assistants and postdocs, and will also have access to internal funding.
It is also expected that the successful candidate will become Associated Faculty of NYU that allows research privileges and access to programs and facilities at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering in New York.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related disciplines and must have demonstrated an ability to develop and lead high-quality research and attract competitive external funding.
