The Civil and Urban Engineering program in the Engineering Division at New York University Abu Dhabi is accepting applications for a non-tenure-track Clinical Associate Professor position, to begin on September 2023. The appointed faculty member will be part of the Civil and Urban Engineering program.

The Clinical Associate Professor responsibilities will include:

  • Teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, primarily in the areas of structural engineering.
  • A commitment to developing creative, engaging content and course materials is required.
  • Serve as the Engineering Division ABET & CAA coordinator.
  • Clinical faculty are encouraged to remain active in research. Research interest experience in the following areas are preferred; 1) structure resilience and sustainability 2) risk and reliability-based structural design, and 3) computational modeling of composite materials. 


The candidate must have proven experience and expertise in USA ABET assessment and accreditation as well as The Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) in the UAE. The faculty member is expected to teach the equivalent of 4 courses per academic year. Qualifications

The field of specialization for this position is structural engineering at the Clinical Associate Professor level. An earned doctorate in Civil Engineering is required. 

The candidate is expected to serve as the Engineering Division ABET & CAA coordinator. Substantial experience and proven ability in high-quality teaching, and extended experience in ABET & CAA accreditation are required.
