Department Summary
Since 1914 the Charles H. Lundquist College of Business has taught its students the critical skills they need to think for themselves, be leaders in a dynamic world, and make better decisions on behalf of the people and resources they manage. We are a top business school with a unique mission and vision that draws strength from our links to the Pacific Rim and the distinctive qualities of Oregon culture: innovation, sustainability, active lifestyles, financial stewardship, and respect for individuality and diversity within an increasingly global community.
The Master of Science in Sports Product Management (SPM) program (housed in Portland Oregon) produces graduates that are capable of managing products as a member of a product creation team (e.g. product development, product marketing, product merchandising, costing, materials, etc.) within the 800 plus sports product companies in Oregon and beyond. An SPM degree differs significantly from an MBA in that it has fewer finance and accounting courses, but a significant amount of product sustainability, innovation, consumer-focused marketing design, and strategy courses.
The University of Oregon is committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse institution and seeks candidates with demonstrated potential to contribute positively to its diverse community.
