Job Description

Health, Counseling, and Disability Access Services are seeking an experienced and skilled therapist able to work with a diverse clinical population with a wide range of needs, as well as to support our efforts to enhance our services to serve all students.
  • We are seeking an experienced therapist to coordinate unit intakes and provide initial assessments; individual and group counseling/therapy; crisis intervention; consultation; outreach and psycho-educational programming; and supervision of clinical graduate interns.
  • We are seeking a professional who is committed to the work of university counseling centers and who wishes to join a dynamic staff seeking ways to better meet the mental health needs of the campus population.
  • Cultural competence is of utmost importance.
  • The successful candidate will value a multifaceted approach involving strongly linked clinical and training efforts, consultation with the campus, mental health prevention/early intervention, multicultural values/awareness, and collaborative campus connections.
  • We seek individuals who are collaborative in nature, have strong communication skills, practice good self-care, maintain healthy boundaries, and possess the ability to manage the workload while promoting a positive atmosphere and healthy relationships.

Shift

Monday – Friday 8am-5pm.

Salary

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $60,000-$65,000 annually
Grade: GGS-10
University Title: SENIOR COUNSELOR HEALTH/WELFARE/WELLNESS

Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology or Social Work is necessary.
  • Experience promoting, developing, and maintaining group therapy.
  • Demonstrated competence to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Some post-degree experience in counseling is necessary.
  • University counseling center experience and Missouri licensure eligibility are highly desirable.
  • The successful candidate must be licensed in the State of Missouri within 18 months of hire, if recently graduated and in need of postdoctoral supervision.
Preferred Qualifications

Desirable skills include interest and experience in utilizing a brief therapy model, crisis intervention, hospitalization experience, and work with more complex cases.
