The English and Languages department at Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas is seeking an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) of US ethnic literature.  This position, which carries a 4-4 teaching load, will be responsible for teaching advanced undergraduate and graduate courses on ethnic literature, broader general education literature courses, and first year writing courses.  Successful candidate will also be expected to conduct scholarly research and provide service to the department, college, and university.    

Earned doctorate/terminal degree approved by the University and recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges with appropriate academic credentials verified by Tarleton’s faculty credentialing processes.

PhD in English or related field, with a specialization an ethnic literature of the US, required.

Specializations may include but are not limited to African American literature, Latinx literature, Native American/Indigenous American literature, and Asian American literature.
