The English and Languages department at Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas, is seeking an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) of Professional Writing and Rhetoric. This position, which carries a 4-4 teaching load, will be responsible for teaching advanced undergraduate and graduate courses on professional writing and rhetoric as well as first year writing courses. Successful candidate will also be expected to conduct scholarly research and provide service to the department, college, and university.
Earned doctorate/terminal degree approved by the University and recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges with appropriate academic credentials verified by Tarleton’s faculty credentialing processes.
PhD in English or related field, with a specialization in Rhetoric or Professional Writing, required.
Preference will be to specialties in writing or rhetoric in medicine, health, science or technology.
