Department of Kinesiology

Assistant Professor in Physical Education Teacher Education

Tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor position in the Physical Education/Teacher Education Program in the Department of Kinesiology beginning August 2023. Doctoral degree in Physical Education Teacher Education, Health Education Teacher Education, or Health and Physical Education. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2024. Evidence of scholarship agenda focused in an area related to Health Education Teacher Education, Physical Education Teacher Education or Health and Physical Education is required. Training and expertise to teach courses in Physical Education and/or Health Education and Kinesiology-related courses in health, wellness and fitness are required. At least 3 years experience teaching PreK-12 Physical Education, Health Education and/or Health and Physical Education is required. Primary responsibilities include: 1) TEACHING – research active instructors teach 6 units over a 9-month academic year in a highly diverse, student-centered program; provide high quality instruction in a variety of health and/or physical education teacher education courses; advise and mentor students as they matriculate through the program and prepare to enter the profession; 2) SCHOLARSHIP – development/continuation of a focused area of scholarship that includes refereed publications, professional presentations, external funding, and involvement in scholarly projects with faculty and students; 3) SERVICE – active service participation at the Department, College, University, Profession and community levels; engage in administrative contributions to the program related to internship coordination and accreditation support. Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in Physical Education/Teacher Education

Tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position in the Physical Education/Teacher Education Program in the Department of Kinesiology. Doctoral degree in Physical Education/Teacher Education, Health Education/Teacher Education, or Health and Physical Education. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 2024. Evidence of scholarship agenda focused in an area related to Health and/or Physical Education/Teacher Education is required. Training and expertise to teach courses in physical education and/or health education and kinesiology related courses in health, wellness and fitness are required. Experience teaching K-12 physical education, health education and/or health and physical education is required. Candidates wishing to be considered for the rank of associate professor should have 6 years of experience teaching in higher education or comparable qualifications, and demonstrate a clear line of scholarship with outcomes. Primary responsibilities include: 1) TEACHING – provide high quality instruction in a variety of health and/or physical education/teacher education courses and advise and mentor students as they matriculate through the program and prepare to enter the profession; 2) SCHOLARSHIP – development/continuation of a focused area of scholarship that includes refereed publications, professional presentations, external funding, and involvement in scholarly projects with faculty and students; 3) SERVICE – active service participation at the Department, College, University, Profession and community levels. Assistant Professor in Athletic Training

Tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor position in the Masters in Athletic Training Program in the Department of Kinesiology beginning August 2023. Research Doctoral degree in a Kinesiology-related field. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 28, 2024. Minimum of five years of certification and good standing with the Board of Certification (BOC, Inc) and must hold or be eligible to apply for Maryland Licensure as an Athletic Trainer by the start of the appointment. Evidence of scholarship agenda focused in an area related to Kinesiology and/or Athletic Training. Training and expertise to teach Kinesiology courses in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, and health and human performance to diverse learners. Primary responsibilities include: 1) TEACHING – research active instructors teach 6 units over a 9-month academic year in a highly diverse, student-centered program; provide high quality instruction in a variety of athletic training and exercise science courses; advise and mentor students as they matriculate through the program and prepare to enter the profession; 2) SCHOLARSHIP – development/continuation of a focused area of scholarship that includes refereed publications, professional presentations, external funding, and involvement in scholarly projects with faculty and students; 3) SERVICE – active service participation at the Department, College, University, Profession and community levels; engage in administrative contributions to the program related to clinical education and accreditation support. Department of Economics Assistant Professor – 2 positions

Two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions beginning in Fall 2023. A Ph.D. in economics at the time of hire is required. Successful candidates will have demonstrated skills in computational economics, causal inference, machine learning, or econometrics. Preference will be given to candidates with a focus in either applied macroeconomics or applied microeconomics and a record of excellence in teaching, scholarly achievement, and demonstrated ability to obtain external funding through grants or contracts. The expected teaching load is 18 credit hours (6 courses) per year. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the ability to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. CBE-3611 Department of Management Assistant Professor of Management Tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Management. Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Business Administration or Management from an AACSB-accredited institution. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 2024. Applicants will need to demonstrate potential for strong research, excellent teaching, and service aligned with the college’s expected outcomes of impact, innovation, and engagement. Faculty member will be assigned a teaching workload of six (6) courses per academic year in entrepreneurship and strategy such as Entrepreneurship Foundations, Social Entrepreneurship, International Entrepreneurship, and Business Policy & Strategy. Faculty member is expected to pursue research leading to refereed journal publications in the field of entrepreneurship and strategic management. Faculty member is expected to engage in service to the department, college, university, community, and professional associations. The successful candidate will join a department that is committed to scholarly productivity, students’ excellence, and innovative and technology focused experiential teaching. CBE-R-3609 COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS Department of Psychology Assistant Professor The College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in the field of Organizational Psychology/Human Resource Development Graduate Program. Ph.D. in Psychology. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 2024. Applicants must possess and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service primarily at the graduate level. The successful applicant will teach foundational and advanced courses for the school psychology program. Most graduate courses are taught late afternoon and evenings. The successful applicant is expected to demonstrate research competency as well as evidence that they will continue to grow their research agenda, leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals. Areas of research interest are open. Applicants must possess and demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive teaching, research and service. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with a diverse population and be sensitive to the educational needs of these students. The successful applicant will contribute to on-going development and evaluation of the Program. Student advising and participation on Department or University committees are also expected. Evidence of effective teaching experience in a college or university setting as well as applied experience in the field is highly desirable.
