The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is a world-renowned, international research university in Hong Kong.  The Center for Language Education invites applications for teaching-track faculty positions at Lecturer to Senior Lecturer ranks.

Applicants are invited to specify whether they would like to be considered at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level.  Level of appointment will be determined based on experience in administrative leadership and track record of scholarly output.

The appointee is required to teach a range of courses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and communication skills for undergraduate and postgraduate students.  As a full teaching-track faculty member, the appointee is expected to contribute to the academic life of the Center by engaging in scholarship of teaching and learning.  Competence in using technology for teaching is expected.  Applications are particularly welcome from teachers with expertise in project management, materials development, blended learning or intercultural communication.

Applicants should have a first degree and a master's degree in TESOL, applied linguistics or language education and preferably a recognized language teaching qualification.  They should also have some experience in teaching English as a second/foreign language at tertiary/senior secondary level.   The appointee is expected to commence appointment in January 2023 for Spring Team Teaching. (Duration: 2 years)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
